About us, 10 years on

When we founded our advertising, marketing and PR agency in 2000 we wanted to be different… Our unique selling point was, and still is, personal service – we provide advertising that works.

Our Directors have their fingers on the pulse. Media and print buying and all client contact is done at Director level. We pride ourselves on our ability to buy print for clients at competitive rates, always dealing with local suppliers where possible, so that every job is personally supervised by us.

Our proud boast on day one still holds true – “no project is too big or too small”. We are just as happy to place a classified lineage advertisement as  to book a network Television campaign. We deal with almost all national media along with many local and regional ones too.

Above all we understand that businesses have deadlines, and you have a business to run. So, if it’s achievable we’ll do our utmost to achieve it for you!

10 years ago when The Consultancy started we were in a whole different business world, e-mail and the web were still not something people took seriously, in fact we look fondly at our 1st website realising the person who thought they were anonymous, when they left a message saying “sad” may have had a point.

Hopefully we have come a long way since then. We would like to thank all our clients past and present for their support. We are  a family business and enjoy the independent status we have.

Nigel Reeve has over thirty-five years media experience starting in local newspapers before gaining experience in magazines, local TV, websites and radio. He was one of the team behind

Classic FM, the hugely successful national commercial radio station and whilst there launched the Classic FM Magazine and CD brand. He is also an established sales trainer with over 30 years sales training experience.

Lindsay

Lindsay Jones

Lindsay started her career in the retail world before moving to media sales, dealing on a daily basis with the major London advertising agencies.

Recently she has been dealing with national media sales across the South West of England where she gained experience in magazine, radio, newspaper and the direct mail advertising. In addition she has written a number of sales training courses specialising in all aspects of customer services.

Theatre and Venue Advertising

We have undertaken a number of projects for Theatres and touring shows.

We are honoured to be the advertising agency for The Mousetrap, the worlds longest running stage show now in its 58th year. The show is at St Martins Theatre in London’s Theatreland, and not to be missed.

We have placed the advertising for a number of touring shows including Scooby Doo and Thomas the Tank Engine,

as well as a number of Pantomimes and open air concerts including Status Quo.

We have used everything from Radio and TV to National and regional Press, magazines and not forgetting buses and outdoor.

We have also been associated with other West End touring shows featuring  Buddy and Elvis working for the shows producers.

We have worked on the Festive Gift Fair for many years. Now in it’s 15th year at the NEC the 2010 dates are November 18 – 21

Mystery Shopping

The Consultancy offer a number of services, amongst them mystery shops.

We are happy to undertake a mystery shop on your business.

We have worked on National brands, including Ladbrokes, where we shopped to make sure in-house training was working. We have also worked with the owner of a restaurant chain in London.

We will also set up and run consumer panels.

We are comfortable with all sectors, retail or industrial.

Press Co-ordination

Our PR arm works hard at promoting businesses, with a difference.

We are extremely proud of our client base, and although we tend to work in specific areas , we are more than happy to take on projects.

The Consultancy has provided press co-ordination, which involves setting up and the maintenance of competitions with local, regional and national press and magazines, feeding news items of interest and generally liaising with the press and client.

We also deal extensively with the broadcast media.

During the time The Consultancy has been growing, so has our list of merchandise suppliers. We try to deal direct with the manufacturers for products including umbrellas, key rings, ceramic mugs as well as car stickers, tax disc holders and memory sticks. Whatever merchandise you are looking for, from balloons to personalised sweets, we can source it.

I have a job to advertise!

About 18 months ago we bought www.ihaveajobtoadvertise.co.uk then the bottom dropped out of the recruitment market.

Things are now slowly recovering and the phrase ‘I have got a job to advertise’ is not as rare. The Consultancy places recruitment advertising in Trade press as well as National, Regional and Local Newspapers. Everyone needs an edge, and other than negotiating, which we always do, the best positions availble, we offer free artwork for all recruitment press advertistments.

We understand deadlines and work to your requirments at the same time staying in touch with the publication.

We also offer a free voucher service.

We still have the website and plan to open it to use as a Marketing tool.
